5.1 Information and precautionary

measures for use

¼ Warning! Petrol, paint thinner, fuel oil, etc. may

form explosive vapours and compounds if mixed with
the suction air flow.

¼ Acetones, acids and solvents may attack the materials

used on the appliance. It is quite safe to vacuum water
containing ordinary household cleaning agents.

¼ After wet vacuuming or spray extraction, clean the

dirty-water container and all used parts and leave to
dry.

¼ Never use for vacuuming liquids or spray

extraction without the dirty-water contai-
ner.

¼ Your THOMAS TWIN AQUAFILTER is not intended

for vacuuming large quantities of liquid out of contai-
ners or basins.

¼ Caution! Never run the pump without liquid.

Before wet vacuuming carpets

¼ Ensure that everything you wish to wet vacuum is

suitable for this operation, e.g. do not wet vacuum
delicate, hand-woven or non-colourfast carpets.

To test, put a small amount of cleaning solution on

a white cloth and rub this onto a less conspicuous
area of the carpet. If no traces of colour come off
onto the cloth, you can assume that the carpet is
colourfast.

If this is not the case, the carpet must not be wet

cleaned.

If you are unsure, consult a carpet dealer.
If the carpet has been shampooed before, excessive

foam may form in the dirty-water container the first
time you use the THOMAS TWIN AQUAFILTER. To
prevent further suds forming add 1/2 cup of vinegar
to the dirty-water container.

If foam comes out of the air escape, switch off the

appliance immediately and empty the dirty-water
container.

There is no risk of excessive foaming once the carpet

has been cleaned thoroughly with the THOMAS
ProTex cleaning concentrate, as this contains a
special foam stopping ingredient.

You should not walk on the carpet while it is still

damp.

During cleaning and afterwards, the room should be

well aired, to enable the carpet to dry quickly.

• Read the “Points of safety” under section

dosing valve from not functioning properly.

Fill up with cleaning concentrate and water to the
grip lug (max. 2,4 litres).

We recommend the THOMAS ProTex original
concentrated cleaning
