Before using
for the first time
Please read all the following information
carefully. It gives important advice on
the safety, use and maintenance of the
appliance. Retain the instructions booklet in
a safe place and, if applicable, pass it on to
the subsequent owner of the appliance.
Environmental concerns
Do not simply discard the packaging and your old
appliance.
Packaging:
¼ The carton can be taken to a recycling point.
¼ The polythene (PE) bag can be taken to a collection
point to be re-used.
Disposal of the appliance at the end of its
useful life:
¼ Cut off the mains cable and dispose of the appliance
in accordance with local regulations.
1 .2 Points of safety
¼ The THOMAS TWIN AQUAFILTER is intended only
for household use by adults.
¼ Do not operate the appliance if:
- the mains cable is damaged
- there are visible signs of damage
- the appliance has ever been dropped
¼ The voltage data on the appliance’s rating plate must
conform to the power supply.
¼ Never operate the appliance in rooms where
inflammable materials are stored or where gases
have formed.
¼ Never leave the appliance unattended when switched
on and ensure that children do not play around with
the appliance.
¼ Extreme care is required when cleaning stair-carpets.
Ensure that the appliance stands firmly on the step
and take care that the hose is not stretched beyond its
actual length. Never stand the appliance on
its end.
¼ Do not use the TWIN AQUAFILTER for dry
vacuuming if the Aquafilter system has not
been fitted in accordance with the instruc-
tions booklet. Otherwise the appliance
may get damaged.
¼ Do not stand on the appliance and do not overstretch
or fold the hose system.
¼ Warning! This vacuum cleaner is not suitable for
vacuuming noxious substances or solvent liquids, such
as paint thinner, oil, petrol or corrosive liquids.
¼ Do not vacuum superfine powders such as
toner or soot, in order to avoid impairing
the performance of the filter and dama-
ging the appliance.
¼ When the appliance is switched on, do not allow the
nozzles and pipes to come within the proximity of the
head, as this is dangerous to the eyes and ears for
example.
¼ Never point the cleaning jet at people or animals, or
at plug sockets or electric appliances.
¼ People with sensitive skin should avoid direct contact
with the cleaning solution. If the solution comes into
contact with mucous membranes (eyes, mouth, etc.),
wash immediately with plenty of water.
¼ Empty the container immediately after vacuuming
liquids or damp surfaces. Chemical reagents (cleaning
agent for hard floor surfaces and carpets) should be
kept away from children.
¼ The proper function of the appliance and effective
cleaning can only be guaranteed if Original THO-
MAS cleaning agent is used.
¼ Never unplug the appliance by pulling at the cable, but
only by removing the plug directly from the socket.
¼ Ensure that the mains cable is not exposed to either
heat or chemical liquids, and that is not pulled across
sharp edges or surfaces.
¼ Do not use an extension cable in wet environments,
such as the bathroom.
¼ Before cleaning / maintenance / filling
/ emptying, and in the event of a fault,
switch off all switches and remove the
mains plug.
¼ Do not leave the appliance in the open and do not
expose directly to moisture or immerse in liquid. Do
not store next to heating units.
¼ Never repair damage to the THOMAS TWIN AQUA-
FILTER, the accessories or to the mains connection
cable (special-purpose cable required) yourself,
but have all repairs carried out only by an authori-
sed customer service station, as modifications to the
appliance can endanger your health. Ensure that only
original spare parts and accessories are used.
¼ Also read the details in the “Information and
precautionary measures for use” sections.
¼ Enjoy your appliance to the full through
correct usage.
¼ The manufacturer will not be liable for any damages
caused by non-observance of these instructions or by
improper use of the appliance.
