9. SPEAKERS AND PLACEMENT
1. Front channel speakers: reproduce the main parts of stereo sound, e.g. speech and music. So, you should place the speakers
on the left and right in front of a listening location as normal stereo systems.
2. Center channel speaker: mainly reproduces the speech in a movie. So, this speaker should be set on straight ahead the listener.
Normally you can put it on top of a TV set.
3. Rear channel speakers: mainly reproduce some ambient (surround) sound in a movie, and specially sound effects behind the lis
tener. This part of sound is normally lower than other channels. The rear speakers should be placed behind the listener.
4. Subwoofer: mainly emphases the bass part, to establish an ambience of a movie theater. Following figure shows the placing
method in a normal home, for your reference.
To reproduce sound of movie much better, we suggest that you setup your speakers as above diagram. Because the center speaker
(C) is an anti magnetic unit, so you can put it on the top of TV. Due to the center speaker you can place main speakers(front speak
ers) (L) and (R) far from each other properly. Because the directionality of mid/high frequency is stronger than the bass, so you can
place the subwoofer (SW) at any corner in a room. If you like stronger sub bass, you can place the subwoofer near listener. Besides
subwoofer all speakers’ center axis should be placed on height of listener’s ear. Surround speakers (LS) and (RS) should be put two
sides behind viewing place and let the speakers face to listener’s location.
