- Install it well
This m eans that the applianc e should be installed
away from heat sourc es or direc t sunlight in a well-
ventilated room .
- Correct temperature settings
Set the refrigerator or freezer tem perature knob to one
of the m edium settings. Very low tem peratures will not
only c onsum e a great deal of energy but will neither
im prove or lengthen the storage life of the food. Ex-
c essively low tem perature m ay in fac t spoil vegeta-
bles, c old m eats and c heese.
- Do not overfill
Rem em ber that proper storage of food requires good
air c irc ulation. Overfilling your applianc e will prevent
this c irc ulation and overwork the c om pressor.

- Shut the doors
Open your applianc e only when stric tly nec essary;
rem em ber that every tim e you open the door m ost of the
c old air will be lost. The m otor will have to run, and c onsum e
energy, to restore the c orrec t tem perature.
- Check the door gaskets
Keep the gaskets c lean and soft so that they fit c losely
against the door to ensure that no c old air is lost.
- Never store hot foods
A c ontainer of hot food in the refrigerator will inc rease the
tem perature signific antly; allow food to c ool to room tem -
perature before storing.

Defrosting
WARNING: do not damage the refrigeration circuit.
Do not use mechanical devices or other tools to speed
up the defrosting process, unless they have been rec-
ommended by the manufacturer.
How to Defrost the Refrigerator
This applianc e defrosts autom atic ally and the water is
drained to the bac k towards the drain pipe installed for this
purpose (fig. 1). Here, the heat produc ed by the c om pres-
sor will m ake it evaporate. The only thing you m ust do is to
periodic ally c hec k and c lean the hole of the drain, whic h
is loc ated behind the vegetable c rispers, so that the water
drains properly.

How to Defrost the Freezer Compartment
- Every so often, rem ove the frost with the sc raper provided
with the applianc e (do not use knives or m etal objec ts).
- If the frost is m ore than 5 mm thic k, the freezer m ust be
defrosted.
Proc eed as follows: turn the therm ostat knob (B) to the ·
setting . Then wrap all the frozen and fast-frozen food in
newspaper, plac ing it either in the refrigerator or in a c ool
plac e. Leave the freezer door open so that the frost thaws
c om pletely(fig. 2). You c an speed this proc ess by plac ing
c ontainers of warm water in the c om partm ent.

Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the appliance from the mains before
cleaning.
- Your applianc e is m anufac tured with hygienic odourless
m aterials. To preserve these c harac teristic s, always use
sealed c ontainers for strong sm elling foods to avoid the
form ation of odours that are diffic ult to rem ove.
- Use only a water and bic arbonate solution: Clean the in-
ternal and exterior of your applianc e with a sponge
soaked with a warm water and sodium bic arbonate solu-
tion, whic h is also a good disinfec tant. If you do not have
any sodium bic arbonate at hom e, use neutral detergent.
- What not to use: Do not use abrasive detergents, bleac h
or detergents c ontaining am m onia. Never use solvent-
based produc ts.
- Dishwashable: All the rem ovable parts c an be c leaned
by soaking in hot soapy water or detergent. If you own a
dishwasher, you m ay wash these parts in the dishwasher.
Rem em ber to dry thoroughly before replac ing them .
- What about the bac k panel? Dust m ay deposit on the
bac k panel and affec t the proper running of the appli-
anc e. To rem ove dust, vac uum away the dust very c are-
fully using the appropriate vac uum c leaner ac c essory.
- Disc ontinued use of the applianc e: If the applianc e is not
in use for any length of tim e, rem em ber to c lean the inte-
rior and dry thoroughly, leaving the doors open to prevent
the form ation of bad odours and m ould.
- Interior refrigerator walls are c overed with spec ial anti-
bac terial layer, c ontaining silver. This antibac terial layer
m aintains hygienic environm ent and prevents from un-
pleasant odor. Antibac terial effec t rem ains after repeated
c leaning with warm water.
