9. To complete the cleaning process; Iron a piece of a clean old
cotton cloth in order to clean the sole plate (11) of any remain-
ing dust and scale and to evaporate the remaining water. When
you have finished ironing, always switch the appliance off and
disconnect from the electrical supply.
Auto stop
For safety reasons, your iron will automatically stop heating if
it’s left:
! upright for 8-10 minutes, or
! flat for 30-35 seconds.
The Color Changeable indicator (10) will slowly blink, at the
same time, the buzzer will beep four-six times. The iron will heat up
again when you move it and the operation light will stop blinking.
! To deactivate automatic shut off, stand iron on heel or shake
gently, then the iron will switch on again.
6) When you have finished cleaning or ironing, do not forget to
switch the iron off. Set the Select knob to the position « » and
set the Display Fabric Settings (9) to the position « ». Un-
plug the appliance from the mains supply outlet.

Cleaning of the sole plate
Do not use any abrasive substances and
materials to clean the sole plate.
Cleaning of internal parts of the
appliance
SI-5000 I-Flash iron is equipped with an anti-scale function
which protects it from an accumulation of scale: it does this with a
built-in permanent filter. Therefore the water hardness is reduced
and the useful service life of the iron is extended.
Warning: In areas with very hard water it is recommended
that you regularly remove scale from the appliance to
maintain it in good working order. Excess lime scale
may result in damage or malfunction of your product.
If in your area the water is soft and you have average amounts
of clothes to be ironed then we recommend you to de-scale every
6 months (see subsection «Self-Cleaning»). If the water in your
area is very hard or if you iron frequently, then we recommend
you de-scale once a month.
Storage
Before storing the iron, make sure it is disconnected from the
mains supply outlet and is completely cooled down. Drain the
remaining water from the tank (5) by opening the cover (4) and
holding the iron upside down over the sink. Store the appliance in
the upright standing position. The recommended storage tem-
perature is from +5 to +35°C.
