perpendicular to the length of the pipe. When the damper part
J130S141 or J100S142 is used, it must be located between
the non-insulated pipe and the insulated segment.

2.5. ExTENSION PIPE

The extension pipe is used to lengthen the non-insulated con-
nection pipe when more than 1000 mm of non-insulated piping
is needed. The extension pipe comes with a jointing sleeve for
joining the pipes together.

The length of the non-insulated piping can be adjusted by saw-
ing off the excessive length (see chapter 2.3 about dimension-
ing). The cut must always be perpendicular to the length of the
pipe.

The combined length of connection pipe and extension pipe
must not exceed 2000 mm.

Never use more than a single extension pipe. It is subject
to the same safety distance regulations as the connection
pipe, see chapter 2.4.

2.6. dAMPER PART J130S141 ANd J103S142

We recommend the use of a damper part. Its place is between
the non-insulated connection pipe and the insulated part.

2.7. 100 MM KASTOR CHIMNEY SET, INSULATEd PART

The chimney’s insulated portion is 1940 mm long and always
delivered in two segments, which are joined with a tie ring.

2.8. 130 MM KASTOR CHIMNEY SET, INSULATEd PART

The chimney’s insulated portion is 1940 mm long and always
delivered in two segments, which are joined with a tie ring.

2.9. SUPPORTING FLAT CEILING PLATE

Rings are used in lead-through for support and trimming the
hole. They are fastened with screws or suitable glue to the ceil-
ing. These ceiling rings are available for different pitches of the
roof and different chimney diameters. In the product number it
is the number KC-15x which indicates the suitable pitch of the
roof. The chimney diameter (100, 130, 150, 180 mm) must be
mentioned when ordering.

The ceiling plate consists of two equal parts, which are pushed
against the chimney. With an inclined ceiling, the plate may be
adapted by cutting it with tin shears. In wooden buildings, the
natural movement of the house must be accounted for.

2.10. KC INSULATION CYLINdER (ExTRA EqUIPMENT)

The insulation cylinder is used as fireproofing for combustible
roof and wall perforations with a supporting flat ceiling plate.
The cylinder is 500 mm long and contains an insulation of 50
mm. The cylinder is cut to surface level and the opening is
covered with a supporting flat ceiling plate. The cylinder must
extend 50 mm above the insulation of the ceiling. Corresponds
to 100 mm fire wool insulation of the E3 regulations.

NOTE! For solutions with a thick roof or intermediate floor
insulation (500 mm or more) the special solution below is
recommended:

Fireplace chimneys etc.: temperature of chimney gases is
about 400 °C. Make a hole for the cylinder being 105 mm big-
ger than the mantle of the chimney. The chimney is supported
by a flat ceiling plate in the through hole.

Stove chimneys: temperature of chimney gases is about
600 °C. 50 mm ceramic or fire wool insulation (not building
insulation) must be added outside the insulation cylinder. The
through hole must be 125 mm bigger than the mantle of the
chimney. The chimney is supported by a flat ceiling plate.

2.11. KC RAIN COLLAR (CHIMNEY ROOT SEAL)
J100-2256055

The rain collar is suited for roofs with an incline of 0-45° cov-
ered with felt or tin and many plate or tile roofs, if their profile
does not prevent a good attachment of aluminium and glue.

On a metal-sheeted roof we recommend using a ridge flash-
ing sheet (KC Roof ridge cylinder flashing extension sheet
1250 mm x 800 mm, stainless steel). The sheet must reach
from the ridge to the top of the back edge of the rain collar,
using the necessary amount of extension sheets. The ridge
flashing must extend at least 50 mm onto the top of the rain
collar’s back edge.

If the roof piercing goes through the seam of a machine-
seamed roof, the ridge flashing needs to be made by a quali-
fied roofing firm.
