The fireplace gives off both conventional and radiation heat. It is a very efficient heat source. The

mantle, sides and doors radiate heat and warm up. Be very careful! The handles, the feeding

door's glass, the furnace surface and the circulating air may be very hot!

In case of a chimney fire or any danger of one occurring, close the fireplace's doors and adjusters, but

leave any damper plates in the chimney flue open.

Call the fire department, if you need help extinguishing it. After a chimney fire, the chimney

flue must be inspected by the local chimney sweeper.

Chimney fires, even extinguished ones, must always be reported to the fire department.

Do not let children light a fire or stay close to the lighted furnace without adult supervision.

Also check the following aspects and their influence on your choice of installation location:

Safety distances to flammable and non-flammable structures, chapter 2.5.

Location of chimney connection (height from floor of any existing chimney connection or

installation route of any new chimney pipe)

Floor material (flammable, non-flammable) and carrying capacity, chapters 2.4 and 2.5.

2. Installation

2.1. Removal and attachment of soapstones

Removal of soapstones:

Remove the edging stones from the cover by lifting.

Tie the side soapstones into place with a string around the fireplace to prevent them from

falling over.

Lift the fireplace's cover off.

Lift the side soapstones off their fittings and note their order.

Move the fireplace into its installation location.

Attachment (after chapter 2.3. Attaching the flue connection):

Lift the side soapstones into place while watching that the fittings slide into their holes. The

front edge of the stones should be aligned with the front edge of the base plate.

Lift the fireplace's cover back into place. The topmost soapstones have screws that fit into the

cover's slots (Picture 1).

Set the cover's edging stones back into place.

2.2. Changing the handedness of the door

The door's opening direction cannot be changed.

2.2.1. Changing the glass (Picture 10-11)

The glass cannot be changed while the door remains in place.

Detach the door's hinges (4 screws).

Detach the screws in the door edges. Their retaining nuts are inside beneath the cover strip.

Remove seal and cover strip and the glass strips beneath them.

Carefully remove any glass splinters. Remove the seals if they are in bad shape.

Tape new seals to the frame edges.

Place the glass in the frame and centre it.

Put the glass strips into place and the sealing strips on top of them. Push the screws into their

holes. Place the nuts. Tighten lightly.

Tighten the nuts fully.

Check that the door works properly and the glass is tight.

An incorrectly installed glass can inhibit the burning process and cause defects in fireplace and glass.

2.3. Connection to flue channel

The flue pipe connection can be made from the attachment part at the top, which comes attached to

the fireplace's top flue opening (Picture 6). The attachment's hole has a diameter of 129mm. Attach a

pipe to this opening that fits directly into it, using a special adapter (order from Helo on a case by case

basis). With a bent pipe the fireplace can also be attached to a flue not directly above it. (Helo offers a

large assortment of easily installed modular chimneys under Kastor Brand, which have been
