Self Cleaning

General cleaning

Before cleaning, unplug the iron.
Allow the iron to cool down.
Scales and stains can be wiped off the soleplate with a damp cloth
and non abrasive (liquid) cleaner.
Keep the soleplate smooth: avoid hard contact with metal objects!
The upper part of the iron can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Self Cleaning

This iron has a self cleaning function to remove the scale and
impurities. Apply self clean once every two weeks. If the water used
is very hard, self clean should be applied more frequently. For self
cleaning:

Unplug the iron from the mains supply.
Set the steam control button to position “(no steam)”.
Set the temperature control dial to “max” level.
Fill the water tank to the “max” level.
Plug the iron to the mains supply, allow the iron to heat up.
When the pilot lamp ceases to illuminate, Hold the iron horizontally
over a piece of cloth and set the steam control button to. The steam
control button will spring up slightly.
Pull the steam control button slightly.
Boiling water and steam will now come out of the holes in the
soleplate. Impurities and scale (if any) are washed away with it.
Move the iron forwards and backwards while this happens.
