Trouble shooting
What might be the cause of…
Defects you can remedy yourself
Before calling GIAS Service for technical advice please run through the following checklist. A
charge will be made if the machine is found to be working or has been installed incorrectly or used incorrectly.
If the problem persists after completing the recommended checks, please call the GIAS Service, they may be
able to assist you over the telephone.
FAULT CAUSE REMEDY
Mains plug not plugged in Insert plug 1. Does not function on any
program
Mains switch not on Turn on mains switch
No power Check
Electric circuit fuses failure Check
Load door open Close load door
See cause 1 Check 2. Does not load water
Inlet tap turned off Turn on water inlet tap
Timer not set correctly Set timer on correct position
Discharge tube bent Straighten discharge tube 3. Does not discharge water
Odd material blocking filter Check filter
4. Water on floor around
washing machine Leak from the washer between the tap
and inlet tube Replace washer and tighten the tube
on the tap
The washing machine has not discharged
water Wait a few minutes until the machine
discharges water 5. Does not spin
“No spin” setting (some models only) Turn the program dial onto spin
setting
Washing machine not perfectly level Adjust special feet 6. Strong vibrations during
spin
Transport bracket not removed Remove transport bracket
Washing load not evenly distributed Distribute the washing evenly
7. Display reads error 0, 1, 5,
7, 8, 9 - Call service.
8. Display reads error 2 No water fill. Check water supplies are on.
9. Display reads error 3 No pump out. Check drain is clear. Check drain
hose is not kinked.
10. Display reads error 4 Machine overfilled with water. Turn off water supply to machine.
Call service.
It is unlikely that water will be visible in the drum!
This is due to the latest technology that achieves the same standard of washing
and rinsing but with far less water consumption.
