CLEANING THE MAGNETIC HEADS

Over time, the magnetic heads of the cassette player/recorder, cap-

cles from the cassette. As a result, the sound becomes muffled,
weak, or distorted. Impurities on the movement mechanism can lead
to uneven movement or deformation of the magnetic tape.
To clean the magnetic heads and components of the tape move-
ment mechanism, remove the cassette, wipe the magnetic heads,
capstan and pinch roller with a cotton swab dipped in a special cleaning liquid or ethyl alcohol. Wait 10-
20 seconds before using the device again to allow the cleaning solution or alcohol to evaporate.
Never use sharp or metal objects to clean the magnetic heads.
